Learn how to make your own Pokeball soap with this easy melt and pour soap recipe for a Pokemon themed soap.
Table of Contents
For all the Pokémon fans out there, along with the Pokéball Bath Bomb, here’s an adorable Pokéball Soap. I love to make crafts in the shape of Pokéballs and this Pokémon craft uses melt and pour soap making techniques so it’s easy for kids to make as well.
I used clear glycerin soap to make this Pokeball soap, but you could also use opaque soap so that it’s not see-through. And even though the soap looks like it may take a lot of work, it actually is surprisingly easy to make. Simply a few cookie cutters and some reassembling and you have a fantastic gift for any Pokémon fan.

Materials to Make a Pokéball Soap
- Clear Glycerin Soap Base (You can get it on Amazon or Michael’s)
- Round Soap Mold (You can get it on Amazon or Michael’s)
- Circle Cookie Cutter (~ 1.25 inch and ~ inch), I recommend getting a full set with multiple sizes

- Red and Black Soap Dye (this set has all the colors you need)

If you don’t want the soaps to be clear, you can use an opaque soap such as this one.

Instructions to Make Pokeball Soaps
Prepare the Soap Base
Use a knife to cut the glycerin soap into small pieces and place the pieces into a paper cup or microwave safe dish. This is the soap I used.
Place it in the microwave on 30 second increments until it’s melted. Stir in between so it melts evenly.
After it’s melted, mix in a few drops of soap fragrance (this is a great variety pack). Then pour half of the soap into another cup or dish. Add a few drops of red soap dye and mix it with a popsicle stick or spatula. (This set of dyes will have all the colors you need)
Make the Red Half of the Pokeball Soap
Pour the melted red soap into a round soap mold (I’m using a plastic one, but I recommend using a silicone one like this one). Then spray the top with rubbing alcohol to pop any bubbles.
I recommend pouring the rubbing alcohol into a spray bottle (like this one) to make it easy to spray on. But you can also drop some with your hand or an eye dropper.
Let it set in the fridge. Once set, remove it from the mold and then cut it in half.
Place one half back into the mold and wipe the cut side with rubbing alcohol. This will help the soap stick.

Make the Other Half of the Pokeball Soap
Remelt the clear soap if necessary and then pour it into the other half of the mold. Again, spray the top with rubbing alcohol and place it in the fridge to set.
Once it’s set, remove it from the mold and use the larger of the small circle cookie cutters to cut a circle out of the center of the soap. It’s easy to choose the right ones if you have a set like this one.
Tip: It can actually be easier to cut the soap when it’s not 100% set and still slightly soft.
Make the Middle of the Pokeball Soap
Next, cut out the section where the two colors meet so that there is a straight line of empty space across the soap. This will create the stripe across the Pokeball.
Cut up some more soap and melt it down. Mix in some black dye.
Wipe the inside of the soap again with rubbing alcohol and then pour the melted black soap into the empty space. Make sure to only fill it until the top so it’s even with the other colors.
In case you’re like me though and you over-fill it, it’s not a big deal. Simply grab a paper towel and wipe up the excess.
Let it set again until almost completely hard and then use the slightly smaller circle cookie cutter to cut a new circle in the center of the soap.
Melt down some clear soap and add just a drop of fragrance. Fill the center and cover the top of the Pokeball with the clear soap. This way the bottom of the soap will be perfectly even.
Let it set again the fridge until it’s completely set.
